Zoé is an alternative/psychedelic band from Mexico City. Formally formed in 1994, their membership started to stabilize on 1997.

Zoé has started to recognize on the Mexican underground scene, through small concerts, internet, and demos. Gradually they have been listened on the United States Spanish-speakers radios. They released their first album independently ("Zoé" - 2002), and signed a contract with Sony Music, but then their signed a contract with the independent Noiselab and EMI after Sony Music send them their withdrawal letter.

On November 2003, Zoé released their second disc, produced by Phil Vinall, who had worked with bands like Placebo, Pulp and Elastica. This album has been named “Rockanlover”, the same name who has given to the Zoé fans since the released of this album. Zoé had abandoned Sony Music on 2004 and would make a tour in Mexico. Some song from “Rockanlover” has been used like soundtracks from movies like “Amar Te Duele”, “Ladies Night” and “The Dreamer”.

Early 2005, Zoé had worked with their next album with their own resources. The former drummer of Zoé, Beto Cabrera leaves the band, and Jorge Siddhartha has been contracted like drummer until his retirement and subsequent replacement by Rodrigo Guardiola, actual drummer. Zoé signed a contract with the Mexican independent Noiselab Records. On 2005 Zoé released their album “The Room”.

There were rumors about the separation of Zoé, but “The Room” has been the first disc on Mexico who has been won the Gold Record, with 50.000 sold copies, and Zoé decided work on their new disc.

Zoé plays on the ’06 Vive Latino festival, and released the “Memo Rex Commander, y el Corazón Atómico de la Vía Láctea” on June 2006. Their album won the Gold Record, too…

Commemorating the tenth anniversary of Zoé, they released and recorded a concert on the Palacio de los Deportes on Mexico City on 28 November 2007. This has been their first live album, and this has been named “281107”.

During 2007, Zoé was producing their next disc, and has been named “Reptilectric”. Their name had born while León Larregui has been inspirited on Mayan prophecies. This album had won the Platinum Record, with 150.000 sold copies, and is has been considerate like the best disc of Zoé, winning popularity on Latin America, Spain and United States. On 2010, Zoé has been released a tour for Spain, promoting their disc (for Spain) “Zoé 01-10”, with Enrique Búnbury, Anni B Sweet, Vetusta Morla and Dorian like guest artists.

On March 2011, Zoé released their last album “Música de Fondo: MTV Unplugged”, collecting their best singles with the participation of Chetes, Enrique Búnbury, LoBlondo (Hello Seahorse!) and Adrián Dárgelos (Babasónicos). This disc has been received Platinum Record.

Zoé has been nominated on the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards and 2011 Latin Grammy.
